The story

In 1998 six-year-old Ryan Hreljac in Canada learned that some children walk hours for dirty water. He did chores to raise money for a well, kept going long past the first 70 dollars, and grew it into a foundation that has brought clean water to many communities.

What you'll learn

  • Clean water prevents illness and gives kids time to go to school.
  • A well reaches groundwater stored in rock and soil below the surface.
  • Ryan started raising money at six years old.
  • Kid takeaway: start with what you can do today and do not stop.
