The story
A blue whale is longer than three buses and eats krill smaller than your finger. An African elephant munches plants all day, a giraffe reaches leaves nobody else can, and a whale shark cruises the ocean straining plankton with a mouth like a doorway.
What you'll learn
- The blue whale is the largest animal that has ever lived.
- Many giants eat plants or tiny prey like krill and plankton.
- A huge body needs enormous amounts of food every single day.
- Kid takeaway: size and fierceness are not the same thing.
